These
traditional lodges at “The Old River Lodge” are located in a
secluded setting, surrounded by beautiful pines, birches and maples,
five miles downriver from the well-known Salmon fishing village of
Doaktown, New Brunswick.
Our
spacious lawns run down to the water's edge, the main Moose Lodge and
the other lodges are perched on a bluff overlooking the Miramichi; one
of the worlds greatest Atlantic Salmon rivers. The lodges are
constructed of logs, are well maintained with nicely appointed bedrooms,
lounge area and feature full baths. The Moose Lodge, with inviting
dining room and lounge, is centred around a large stone fireplace,
perfect for a quiet read or Salmon talk after supper. This lodge can
accommodate up to 3 persons in three single occupancy rooms with 2
bathrooms. The 2 medium and 2 smaller lodges with similar facilities can
accommodate up to another 8 people. We even have kennels for your
retrievers, a line drying/tackle room and a smokehouse.
The kitchen at the main lodge takes great pride in providing a Canadian
country breakfast every morning before the day’s fishing then you can
return to anything from fresh roast turkey with home made desert to
delicious seafood chowder after a vigorous day on the river. We also
have never ending coffee and tea pots!
Any special dietary requirements can be catered for, subject to a little
notice.
